European Leaders Decry US Move as ‘Coercion’
Officials from Europe including the French president charged Washington of “bullying and threats”, after the visa restrictions targeted figures that were central to campaigns to introduce laws regulating American tech companies.
“For far too long, European activists have led organised efforts to pressure US companies to punish US perspectives they disagree with,” stated a senior US official in a social media post. “This government will no longer tolerate these egregious acts of censorship beyond its borders.”

Nations including Germany, Spain, and the UK, alongside numerous EU representatives supported France in condemning the decision.
